Our Amazing Junior Breakfast

It was very exciting and special to jump out of bed and not to have to get dressed this morning!! Instead we arrived at school all cosy in our pyjamas. We very quickly settled in and began to make our own breakfast. Ms Moonie very kindly offered to be here to support us if we needed anything. However, she commented on how surprised she was at the way everyone helped themselves to cereal and how they made their own toast.

Best of all, we ate so well. Many of us had second helpings and even thirds! We didn't take more than we could eat so we didn't waste any food. After eating our breakfast we washed and dried our own dishes. Then we got ourselves dressed and next we brushed our teeth and our hair. We are proud of ourselves for showing just how independent we are!

Our Matariki Kites

It was a busy Friday afternoon in Room 5. We were folding, gluing, tying and decorating our kites to celebrate this windy time of Matariki. We really enjoyed running with them outside and watching them bobbing and trailing behind us. Then we listened to a story called "The Seven Kites of Matariki".

Drama with Mrs Darby

Since it is the Queen's special Birthday Weekend Mrs Darby helped us put ourselves into the role of royalty. We made crowns and acted as princes and princesses and we explored the story of Cinderella as well. Each of us had opportunities to use various drama skills such as using our voices, doing mime, role play and making up our own plays. We were enthusiastic and confident to participate and thoroughly enjoyed our day.
