Senior Constable Wayne Scott
We are so lucky to have Archer in our class and last week he told us that he wants to be a policeman like his dad when he grows up. His dad offered to come to our school to talk to all the Year 2 classes and tell them about his very busy job. We were so interested to see his uniform and hear about all the tools he uses for his job. We also went up to see his patrol car with even more special tools that help the police to do all kinds of important things. Constable Wayne, you are a Super Hero! Thank you for working so hard to look after our community. We really loved your visit!

Our Next Cricket Lesson
Coach Gwen was teaching us today - hooray! We really enjoyed another wonderful time to play with balls, in teams and in pairs. We were great at playing Snowball Tag as well as throwing and catching to our partners, using a tennis ball.

Mr Kirkham's Mindfulness Lesson
Mr Kirkham came to teach us more about using Mindfulness to help us to relax and be calm. Sometimes when things go wrong for us we feel angry, sad, tired, grumpy and just not right. Mr Kirkham explained that if we pause for a little while and spend time breathing with a smile on our faces, it helps our brain refocus and our hearts fill up with peace. Everyone listened to and followed Mr Kirkham and we all felt good afterwards. Thank you very much for coming to Room 5, Mr Kirkham.

Whānau Colours Day
We all dressed up in our team colours to celebrate Whānau Colour Day today. Hooray! The four different groups (Motatapu, Motohuie, Rangitoto and Waiheke) met at lunch time to hear their whānau captains. Then there were some activities to participate in at play time. After lunch we enjoyed cooling off with an ice block!

Paper Bag Sharing
Yay! We managed to listen to and enjoy the rest of the children's talks about their paper bags this week. It was a treat seeing each child happily sharing the items they had brought. Thank you, parents, for helping with this.
