The Life Education Caravan

It was exciting to meet Kat, our educator, in that big mobile classroom at our school. We were treated to a lesson about being good friends and developing kindness and empathy for others. Harold the giraffe popped in to see us and we especially enjoyed learning the Banana Dance.

Our Assembly Item

We were disappointed that our whole assembly had been cancelled since our class were going to show their colourful flowers and sing a song called "Friends are like flowers". So instead of that we invited Room 4 and 6 to visit and to see us in action. They really enjoyed our item and asked some thoughtful questions about our art work. Then our friends from Room 9 and 10 arrived after morning tea for another opportunity to see what we had being doing. They wanted to sing the song with us so we popped up the lyrics and we all sang along together. Well done to Amber who introduced our class item.

Jacob's Beautiful Bunny, Snowflake

Hooray! We had another sweet furry visitor in our class today!! This time it was Jacob's sweet bunny, Snowflake, who spent the day with us. We watched how placidly he rested in his cage and then we were rewarded for our patience after lunch when we were able to view and cuddle Snowflake. Jacob's sister, Jessica and her friend, Poppy, came across to handle Snowflake and to introduce him to us. They explained that he was a bunny, not a rabbit and that he was a year old. He mostly eats salad leaves and loves to play in the back yard. Thanks for another special experience, Jacob!

Shivansh, Hayley and Eric Shine at our Junior Assembly

Ka Pai, Shivansh and Hayley, for doing a sterling job as presenters in the junior assembly this morning! You spoke so clearly and confidently and we are all very proud of you! Eric, you played the piano like a maestro - listening to the tune you played was inspiring. You are really talented!

Mrs Yates Reads Us a Story

Mrs Yates chose an interesting story to read to us this afternoon. It was entitled "I Don't Like Koala" and told of a boy called Adam who didn't like his stuffed toy who had a habit of crawling into his bed at night. Finally Adam realises that Koala can be a good friend to have around. Mrs Yates used such animated expressions that captured everyone's attention. Thank you, for treating us to that story, Mrs Yates.

Buddy Reading - Making Bookmarks

Our lovely buddy class have made bookmarks for us which we shall use when we meet them for reading sessions. They let us use their lovely pencil crayons and we are very pleased with the end result.

Jacob's Special Guinea Pigs

Jacob brought two adorable visitors to spend the day with us. They are the sweetest guinea pigs called Chocolate and Snuggles. Chocolate is brown and he was very happy to be cuddled by everyone as Jacob passed him from child to child. We noticed how sharp their claws are but they were very gentle and we so enjoyed listening to Jacob's talk about them. Snuggles has much longer fur and is a mixture of cream, brown and white. The guinea pigs like nibbling on fresh salad leaves, carrots and other veggies.
