Skittles Experiment

Many of us were already familiar with the Skittles experiment but we wanted to share it with those who hadn't yet seen it. It is so special watching how quickly the colours on the lollies dissolve into the water and make such a beautiful pattern.

Junior Breakfast

It was very exciting and special to jump out of bed and not to have to get dressed this morning!! Instead we arrived at school all cosy in our pyjamas. We very quickly settled in and began to make our own breakfast. Olivia and Ena's wonderful mothers very kindly offered to be here to support us if we needed anything. However, they were surprised at the way everyone helped themselves to cereal and how they made their own toast.

Best of all, we ate so well. Many of us had second helpings and even thirds! We didn't take more than we could eat so we didn't waste any food. After eating our breakfast we washed and dried our own dishes. Then we got ourselves dressed and next we brushed our teeth and our hair. We are proud of ourselves for showing just how independent we are!

Zentangle Patterns

We enjoyed creating these fabulous Zentangle patterns using black vivid pend and the results were very eye-catching. Unfortunately we only have one photo to show our creations.

Mindfulness in the Hive

We took a mindfulness walk around the Hive this afternoon. It was very pleasant walking calmly and quietly as we strolled all around. We used our eyes to look really carefully and our ears to listen attentively and we could feel the sunshine and smell the fresh air and the smells of nature that surrounded us. Then we looked closely at Neccie and Terrine, the two nectarine trees that are next to our class. They still have their summer leaves of green but just here and there were a few yellow leaves telling us that they know that Autumn is on the way! After that we all found a special tree and we gave it a hug to say "Thank you" for all the things you do for us. Trees give fresh air, wood for houses and furniture, fruit and nuts to eat, shade and shelter for animals, paper, glue, medicine and lots more!
