We were chefs for the day and we made our own delicious burgers! Mr Rankin gave us orders and we followed his instructions very carefully. We watched him add yeast to water and to make dough. Then we needed to knead the dough by punching it. That was great fun and after we had done that we formed our dough into balls and left them to rise. It was a surprise to come back after lunch and see how our buns had grown in size! Next we went on the making the patty. Some of us didn't eat beef so that had chicken. Mr Rankin showed us how to mince the beef and we added some spices and onions to the mixture. We formed the meat into patties and our hands got really sticky. There was a lot of hand washing going on to make sure our burgers were free of germs. Soon everything was ready to be cooked and the smell of the tasty food cooking made our mouths water! Finally our buns and patties were ready and we were able to tuck into them. Mmmmm... so scrumptious!
