It was so exciting to be able to travel by bus to the city for a visit to the museum. We made the most of our time there to visit many exhibits and also to learn about Matariki. Whae Heidi taught us some songs, she told us a story and introduced us to the nine stars of Matariki.
We enjoyed viewing Peter, the large Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton, in the entrance of the museum. Then we went to see the volcano and earthquake section. he dinosaur floor with it's many fossils and also Rajah, the old elephant from Auckland Zoo.
Time spent discovering the many creatures in the Weird and Wonderful section kept us engrossed. We managed to visit the War Memorial too and some of the Maori and Pacific Island areas. Our thanks to the wonderful parent helpers who came to support us.
