Our 100 Day Celebrations!

It was the 100th day of school on Thursday but since we were having our STEM Day we postponed it to Friday. During the week we had been preparing for our Big Day - on Tuesday we starting working on decorating our 100 day crowns. Then on Wednesday we made paper chains to hang up in the classroom and we also made lemonade ice blocks. Friday was a great day for celebrating - after assembly we completed our special crowns and we illustrated our 100 day poem. That afternoon we got together with Room 6 to finish off the WallE movie we had started watching on the last day of term. While watching we all tucked into our delicious ice blocks. Straight after that our Buddy class came down to meet with us to have a bubble blowing session. Unfortunately our bubble mix wasn't successful so instead we did some fitness exercises with the aim of reaching one hundred. Finally we took home our grassy plants with their 100 plus spikes of hair. What a lovely day it was!

Making Lemonade Ice Blocks

As part of our 100 day celebrations we made some lemonade ice blocks from scratch. We made the lemonade by following a recipe and then we poured the lemonade into ice block containers. They stayed in the freezer until our celebration time on Friday and when we finally got to enjoy them, they were so delicious! This was a great science lesson - observing liquids change into solids.

LEGO Coding Day

It is astounding watching what our children are able to accomplish when they work with Mr Rankin. Today they carried on from where they left off in the building of Lego robots that were programmed to move, make sounds and flash lights!

Welcome Back to Term Three

How wonderful to be back and catching up on our friends and their news of the holidays. Wow! It's half way through the year already and we are going to celebrate 100 days of school this week!! We are excited to have two new children in our class. Joseph has returned to PVS after spending a year in China and Shirley will be with us for six weeks as an international student. They have both settled in happily and we are enjoying having them with us.

Whacky Hair and Hat Day

We certainly are a very talented class with amazing parents who pulled out the stops to design and make those amazing hairstyles, hair accessories and hats. Everyone looked absolutely wonderful!! Well done and thank you, parents and families, for putting so much trouble into the outstanding creations!
