Mindfulness in the Hive

We took a mindfulness walk around the Hive this afternoon. It was very pleasant walking calmly and quietly as we strolled all around. We used our eyes to look really carefully and our ears to listen attentively and we could feel the sunshine and smell the fresh air and the smells of nature that surrounded us. Then we looked closely at Neccie and Terrine, the two nectarine trees that are next to our class. They still have their summer leaves of green but just here and there were a few yellow leaves telling us that they know that Autumn is on the way! After that we all found a special tree and we gave it a hug to say "Thank you" for all the things you do for us. Trees give fresh air, wood for houses and furniture, fruit and nuts to eat, shade and shelter for animals, paper, glue, medicine and lots more!
