Celebrating our Different Cultures

What better way to celebrate than to dress up in our cultural clothes? After a fortnight of sharing and discovering interesting aspects of our various cultures and also choosing various cultural lunchtime activities, it has been a special time of learning. Everybody looked amazing in their cultural outfits and we enjoyed watching many special cultural displays in assembly.

Our Olympic Day

Hooray!! How exciting to have had our very own PVS Olympics Day! Our class was the Great Britain team and we dressed in red, blue and white sports gear. In the morning we took our British flags down to the Opening Ceremony held in the hall. Our flag bearers were Draco and Soyhun. During the wonderful ceremony we took the Olympic Oath to play our sports fairly and with great team spirit. We couldn't wait to participate in all the Olympic activities. There were many different games such as kayaking, obstacle courses, gymnastics, relays, etc. At the end of all the activities, we again convened in the hall to have the closing ceremony and the awards. We were happy to congratulate all the winners and even though our class didn't win, we still felt very proud of ourselves for doing our best!

STEM Woodworking Challenge

Working with wood was a very new skill that none of us had tackled before! With Mr Rankin's careful instructions and teamwork, all the children managed to cut their own piece of wood and then they formed a star shape out of nails. Once that was done, the children used wool to weave around the stars and they look amazing!!
