Chris, the Turtle visits Room 5

It was so wonderful having Austin's special turtle visit our class today!! Thanks ever so much to Mr Lee for taking the trouble to transport and spend time bringing Chris. He was in his tank, happily swimming around and Austin told us many facts about his very special pet. Chris eats a variety of food - fish, shrimps, turtle pellets and mealy bugs. He is one year old and has almost tripled his size! Chris is a male and is black, whereas female turtles are green. Chris is a reptile and loves to rest on a rock. He enjoys clambering on a bridge in his tank at home. From there he dives down in the water. Mr Lee held Chris and let the children touch his shell. After that Chris took a walk on a towel and was keen to go walkabout to explore the classroom! What a delightful creature he is! It was so wonderful having Austin's special turtle visit our class today!!
