Farewell, dear Mrs Tanner!!

This morning there was a special assembly in honour of Mrs Tanner who is leaving after 14 years. It was a lovely time to treat her and to thank her for her exceptional service to our school!! Mrs Tanner is going to be greatly missed!

This afternoon, we all gathered in the Junior school area and we ended the day by having some great songs and lots of waving to bid her a warm "Goodbye!"

Buddy Class Treasure Hunt

We always love getting together with our special friends in Room 24 and are getting to know them more and more. Today we so enjoyed paper folding a paper cup so that we could place various items collected from the Hive. We had a long list of items to look for and many of us found them all!

In addition some children found unusual items not on the list. These were brightly coloured ladybugs, monarch caterpillars and a green stone.

Gifts and Cards for Mrs Tanner

Sadly Mrs Tanner has decided to retire! She has been such an incredible, caring, delightful, efficient and much loved office administrator who just does EVERYTHING at our school! Her training as a nurse has been so greatly appreciated and she has taken great care of many a child with scrapes, bumps, bruises and broken limbs. Mrs Tanner is always so willing to go above and beyond her call of duty and has worn countless hats besides being so competent in her office What a privilege it is to have had her at our school!!

Algebra - Patterns and Relationships

We have been working on the practical aspects of building sequences of patterns in algebra. Also, we focused on the continuation of patterns and we needed to solve the rule of various patterns. Here we are making use of classroom resources to make our own patterns.

Stepping Out with Constable Ian

When Constable Ian came to talk with us about being safe pedestrians, he reminded us that we need to be extra, extra, extra careful near busy roads. He taught us to look out for vehicles backing out of sneaky driveways and to be vigilant when cars are reversing. Even with all the cameras and extra devices many vehicles have, children can be hard to spot when they suddenly decide to run.

Constable Ian taught us a simple song which we should remember when crossing a road. It went like this - "Stop, Look and Listen before you cross the street... Use your eyes, use your ears before you use your feet."

We had Sophie and Sarge, two of our wonderful road patrol students, accompany us to the crossing so that we could practice listening to them giving us instructions at the crossing. Constable Ian remarked that Point View is the only school in the area that has a traffic light to help the children cross.

Thank you to Constable Ian for spending this time with us and we promise to always cross safely at pedestrian crossings and not in other parts of the road.
