Mr Kirkham's Mindfulness Lesson

We gained much pleasure and insight into our learning with Mr Kirkham this afternoon. He made our Mindfulness lesson so pleasant, calming and fascinating! By teaching us that we all share the same air and breaths with everyone everywhere, we understood that breathing is important. Then he introduced us to a tree he had brought in to show us. We have since named it "Stomata". The reason for this is that Mr Kirkham took one of Stomata's leaves and he used a magnifying camera so that we could get a closer look at its tiny breathing holes, called stomata.

Mr Kirkham explained that trees and plants are our source of oxygen. They take in carbon dioxide from the air (which we have exhaled) and then convert the carbon dioxide into oxygen! How wonderful! Thank you very much for a wonderful time of mindfulness, Mr Kirkham.
