At last the day arrived for us to embark on our trip across to the exhilarating, ever changing and captivating Auckland Zoo!! We had been counting the sleeps since Monday and keeping our fingers crossed that the weather would be good. Well, the sun shone and everything was just perfect. Our wonderful parent helpers did a sterling job of keeping us safe and focused. Many thanks to Ayla's dad, Ryan's dad, Benjamin's mum, Ellie's mum and Mitchell's mum!!
When we got to the zoo we were greeted by Frazer and Kristy who welcomed us and showed us to a grassy meeting place. We took a self-guided tour to begin with and after lunch Kristy gave us talks about the Little Penguins and about some of the native New Zealand birds in the large aviary.
We certainly packed in as much as we could and all agree that it is a fabulous, fascinating and exciting place to visit. The animals were all so very special and we particularly enjoyed getting up close to the tiger!
A fantastic trip!
