Christopher's Delightful Dog

Christopher was so keen to show us his special new pet. A very bouncy, happy dog named Minion has joined his family and Christopher is going to enjoy lots of play times with her.

Maori String Games

Our wonderful buddy class came across to teach us how to make string patterns. This was a favourite pastime for children in years gone by, especially Maori, and all of us loved the challenge of trying to get our fingers to hold and manipulate the string.

Mitchell Pops in for a Visit

What a lovely surprise! Mitchell arrived at maths time to say a final "Goodbye" as they are leaving for Wellington tomorrow! Mitchell will start his new school on Monday and we hope he loves his new house and his school. We were so excited to see him today and will keep in touch with him:)

Kiwiball

Coach Marco came in to give us a taster of how to play basketball. He showed us how the game is played and we practised running from the home base past the 1st, 2nd and 3rd bases and back to the home base. We took turns to bat a baseball and to be fielders as well. We were all very good at standing correctly with our feet spread apart, our hands gripping the bat correctly and swinging the bat from our shoulder. Well done, Sharks and Dolphins - you were great at playing together as a team!

Goodbye to our friend, Mitchell!

We are so very sad that our very special, wonderful Mitchell has had to leave us!! Mitchell has moved to Wellington and will be going to Waikanae school. We are going to miss him very much and hope he loves his new school. He will soon make lots of friends and we shall keep in touch with him.

The Palace Dance Group

Every year we are fortunate enough to have Parris Goebel's Palace Dance Studio groups perform for us. Parris is an ex pupil of Point View and a number of her dancers have been to our school. We once again enjoyed all the fast paced dances and the fun of seeing students and teachers dancing up on stage. Even our Chloe was chosen to go up and dance on the stage!

Yummy Food from around the World

Some children brought along samples of their traditional food that they enjoy at home. We all were treated to a sampling of these and they were all very tasty - our tastebuds were having a real party! Thanks very much to all the families who spoilt us with these delicious tastings.

Lachlan brought some biscuits from Holland called Speculaas. They were sweet and spicy.

Kayla brought along some tasty roti and we all agreed that we love having Indian food with this special flat bread.

Ayala brought crispy rice and coconut milk wheels called Kokis that come from Sri Lanka. Her wonderful grandma had made them.

Benjamin brought delicious Chinese seafood and vegetable dumplings that melted in our mouths.

Chloe brought two amazing dishes - noodles and sush as well as small rice cakes. They were all so good to eat!

Michael and Christopher shared the most delicious crispy flat cakes that had been folded up into quarters. Christopher's mum had made them and she shared the ingredients with us, as well as how they had been made. They were scrumptious!

Cherie's very generous parents provided each child with a special Chinese snack - totally delicious.

Cultural Day

On Friday we all came to school in clothes that showed the country that we relate to. We got into groups and the photos explain which country we are from.
